Post

I haven’t even written about my new semester at school thus far.

As far as classes go, I’m taking the second part to my American History class, Fundamentals of Acting, Script Analysis, Playwriting, and European Literature (1400-1800). It’s a pretty awesome lineup. In my theatre classes, I’m surrounded by a bunch of older Theatre majors who all know each other, have been in several plays on campus, and use words like “Oedipian,” all of which is pretty intimidating and really makes me wish that I had gone to MTSU my freshman year, too, so that I wouldn’t be so out of the loop.

I think that Playwriting is probably my favorite- it’s very small, and all of my classmates are ridiculously amazing writers, which inspires me to attempt to be the same. Today, we had a Nashville playwright come in and talk with us for a while about all the local theatre outlets. That was intimidating also just because I feel so unfamiliar and new, but it was uplifting as well because, hey, it’s all opportunities for the future. I was sitting in my little seat as he talked, thinking about how awesome it would be to be a part of things, and for a split second it felt like summer even in my winter coat.
